Rainy Weather and Beach Day Part 2!

A/N: Warning, there's a bit emotional stuff in this chapter. It's not too deep hopefully, but I just wanted to warn you in case you're sensitive to this kind of stuff. There's a bit of suffering and suicidal talk in this chapter. Just a warning... If you're sensitive to this kind of stuff, skip the part I tell you to skip. I'll make an A/N when it starts and when it ends. Enjoy the chapter.

Leafy's POV:
"Hey guys, I have an idea," TB said. "Okay, what is it?" I asked. "Leafy, you're the lightest of us four, how about you... Sit on Firey's lap?" he suggested, slightly smirking. My eyes widened and I could feel a huge blush form on my face. I looked at Firey and he was having the same reaction. "Wh-why me?" Firey asked, a nervous tone in his voice. "You two are best friends after all, it would be the least awkward," he replied. Uh, yeah. More like the most awkward! Being a girl who normally just goes with the flow, I said, "Well, um, alright then..." TB sat behind Coiny, Gelatin sat in the middle, Firey sat behind Needle, and I sat on Firey's lap. Great... Well... I secretly didn't mind... And Firey looked like he was fine too. "Hey, Coiny, how far away is this beach?" Gelatin asked. "An hour and a half," Coiny replied. What. I had to sit on Firey's lap for ninety minutes?! I mentally sighed. This'll be a long ride...

Firey's POV:
OMO OMO OMO OMO LEAFY IS SITTING ON MY LAP FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF OH MY OXYGEN!!! She's really light, so it's not like it was uncomfortable, it just made me blush a bit. Okay, fine... A lot... As we were driving, we chatted with each other about random stuff. About 45 minutes in, I noticed Leafy looked really tired. I didn't really say anything, and we kept talking. Slowly, Leafy started drifting out of our conversation, and eventually fell asleep. On my shoulder. While sitting on my lap. I could feel her soft breathing on my neck, an interesting, yet comforting feeling. TB looked at me and saw Leafy asleep. He looked back at me and looked like he was about to die, trying to hold in the laughter. I must've been blushing like crazy. Gelatin noticed and looked at TB. He asked, "What's so funny?" TB just pointed at Leafy and me. Gelatin looked and had the same reaction as TB. "Guys, you two look like you just saw bear conga line. Why're you two laughing like that?" GB asked. She then looked over at me. "Oh, I see," she said once she realized what was happening. She smiled and gave a quiet "awe" while the guys were still trying to hold in their laughter. Needle turned around to see what the noise was about. She had the same reaction as GB. "Needle, what's happening back there?" Coiny asked. Needle explained what was going on. Coiny then said, "OMM take a picture right now." "Wait, what?!" I quietly exclaimed. Needle pulled out her phone real quick and snapped a picture before I could stop her. "Really Needle? Really?" I asked, annoyed. She just giggled and turned back around, facing forward. I sighed. I glanced at Leafy and noticed that her long ponytail was draped over her shoulder. Everyone has finally calmed down and was in their own conversation. We still had another 20 minutes to go. I started getting bored again, so I ending up playing with Leafy's hair. She won't notice... And if she does... I doubt she'll mind... I thought to myself. I suddenly heard another camera shutter from a phone. I turned my head and saw Gelatin, holding up his phone. "Seriously guys?!" I exclaimed. Gelatin and TB broke into a laughing fit. Leafy stirred slightly and ending up grabbing my arm in her sleep. She pulled it towards her. Unsure of what to do, I blushed yet again. And yet again, another camera shutter was heard. "Guys, stop it!" I demanded. I would've hit them, but Leafy had my arm. "Okay, okay, we'll stop," TB said. "Thank you," I replied. We eventually got to the beach. Leafy was still asleep, but she looked like she was about to wake up. "Leafy...?" I quietly asked, lightly tapping her arm with my hand. "Wh-wha...?" she replied sleepily. It was really cute. "We're here," I told her. She look up and me and said, "Oh, we are? Great!" She suddenly acted like she had been wide awake the whole time and seemed energetic. She got off of me and got out of the car. I got out too. Everyone else had gotten out too. Well, except for GB. She was still in the trunk. TB opened the back of the car and helped GB out. We grabbed our stuff and started walking to the beach. The second we stepped on the sand, I said, "I think here's a good spot to set our stuff up." Leafy laughed. "Firey, we're nowhere near the water! We should really get closer," she said. "I-I think here's alright," I answered. "C'mon Firey, you won't get wet," she replied. "Okay, fine," I said. We walked closer to the water. "Here's a good spot," Leafy told us. We weren't too far from the water, according to Leafy, but I guess we weren't too close. We set our stuff down on the sand. We put up the umbrellas and the beach chairs. Leafy placed towels on the chairs. Some of us got out some sunscreen and put it on. We got out some sunscreen and put it on ourselves. Everyone else Leafy finished and ran to the water. "Wait for me!" she called out. I sat down on one of the chairs. "OMZ," Leafy suddenly said. "Hmm?" I asked, then looked at her. I swear, it took all of my power to keep my jaw from dropping. Leafy had taken off her cover-up. Her bikini was now visible. Oh... My... Oxygen... I thought. I think she said something else but I was too dazed to hear her. Leafy finally noticed me looking at her. "Oh yeah, you could do it," she suddenly said. "Wha... Do what?" I asked. "Could you put this sunscreen on my back?" she asked. I nearly died. Just kidding. "Sure," I replied. She laid down on one of the towels on the sand. I sat down next to her and put some sunscreen on her back. I hesitated, practically scared to rub it in. "Uh, Firey?" Leafy asked. "Oh, sorry, I, um, spaced out," I lied. I finally placed my hands on her back and rubbed the sunscreen in. Her skin was so soft... I started to forget that I was rubbing in the sunscreen and just absentmindedly rubbed her back. "Firey, is it rubbed in all the way yet?" Leafy asked me. I snapped out of my daydream and quickly and nervously answered, "Oh! Um, yeah!" "Okay, thanks!" she thanked me cheerfully. "No problem!" I replied. She stood up and started to walk to the water but then stopped. She turned around and looked back at me. "You sure you don't wanna come?" she asked me. I slowly nodded. "Oh, well, alright then..." she replied. I could see sadness and disappointment in her voice. Ugh, Leafy, why must you make me feel so guilty! Something about her sad voice always makes me feel guilty, even if it isn't my fault. I avoided making eye contact, still feeling guilty. "Well, if you want me to, I'll stay with you for a bit. So you're... Not alone..." Leafy suddenly said. "Y-you don't have to if you don't want to... But, I mean, if you do want to you can. It's up to you," I replied quickly, not sure what to say next. I looked back at Leafy and saw her looking back at me. "Well, um..." she hesitated. "Uh, how about I go to the water for a bit, then I'll come right back here. Okay?" Leafy asked. "Sounds good! I'll be right here," I replied. She smiled and I felt okay again. She walked to the water with the rest of the group.

Leafy's POV:
I kept a smile until I turned away from Firey. I'm a bit sad that Firey wouldn't come into the water. I know he has a fear, but I wish I could help him get over it. I got to the shoreline and saw my friends. "Hey, Leafy!" Needle called out to me, but was then splashed by Coiny. "Hey!" Needle exclaimed. She splashed Coiny with more water. Soon, all of my friends were splashing each other. Well, except Firey and myself. I ran into the water. It was quite cool, a perfect temperature for today. I laughed as I got splashed with the water. I occasionally looked over at Firey, by himself on the beach chair. I felt bad for him. "Hey guys, I'm gonna go back to our stuff," I said after about twenty minutes. I got out of the water and started walking back to Firey. Firey looked up at me and waved. I waved back and walked to him. Once I got there, I said, "See? Told ya I'd come back." Firey laughed. He tossed me a towel and I caught it. I dried myself off and sat down on the towel on the sand. Firey and I talked for a bit when he suddenly asked me, "Hey, have you ever made a sand mermaid?" "A... A what?" I asked. "A sand mermaid! My sister made me make one for her one time," he replied. "Wanna make one?" he asked. I giggled. "Sure! Sounds fun! How do you make it?" I replied. He used his finger to trace a mermaid tail in the sand. "Alright, now place some sand inside of the shape," he then said. The two of us packed sand on top of the tail shape until it was raised higher than the rest of the sand. "Now, we trace scales into the tail," Firey told me. We traced scales into the tail. Once we were done, Firey started to dig a hole right next to the top of the tail. I looked at Firey, confused. Once he had finished digging the hole, he said, "Get in." "Uh, why?" I asked. "You're the rest of the mermaid!" he exclaimed. "Oh, really?" I asked, smiling. He nodded. I then sat down. Firey stood up and pulled out his phone. He took a picture and showed me. "Wow, that looks cool!" I exclaimed. "Beautiful..." I could've sworn Firey just said. But I wasn't sure. "What did you say?" I asked. "Oh! Um, uh, I said 'wonderful'. Yeah, that's what I said!" he exclaimed, though he seemed kinda nervous. I mentally shrugged it off and laughed. Firey put his phone back into his bag and I got out of the hole. I sat down on one of the towels and Firey sat down in the sand. He was facing away from the ocean. I looked behind him and noticed Gelatin walking towards us. He put a finger to his lips. I saw him carrying a bucket. I think I knew what he was doing. He quietly got behind Firey and dumped a bucket of water on him. Firey screamed and immediately stood up. He turned around and saw Gelatin. "Dude! What was that for?!" he asked. Gelatin laughed. "OMZ," I said, giggling. The rest of the group saw what happened and were laughing too. "Firey, water's not that bad! It's perfectly fine!" I explained afterwards. "Just give it a chance," I added. "I did... Twice..." Firey replied. I sighed. "At least come to the shoreline. Hang out in the shallow water! It won't hurt you," I said. Firey didn't say anything. "Please...?" I begged. Firey sighed. "Alright... But no farther!" he finally agreed. "Yay!" I exclaimed happily. "C'mon!" I said, pulled Firey's arm. We got to the shoreline, right where the water touches the sand. Very hesitantly, Firey stepped his foot into the water. He then put his other foot in. "See Firey? It's alright," I said. I looked at him and saw him smiling. "This... Actually isn't that bad..." Firey said. I smiled a big smile. The rest of our group came back to the water. We hung out in the water, relaxing. "I'm gonna go farther out. The water's deeper and cooler," I said. Firey refused to go any further into the water. Everyone else stayed where they were. I went into the deeper water by myself, getting a bit of peace and quiet. I suddenly heard a few splashes near me. I looked and saw a little girl, by herself. "Um, are you alright?" I asked. "Yep! I know how to swim!" the little girl said cutely. "But, where're your parents?" I asked. "Oh, I don't have any... I'm with my Auntie Paula," she replied. "Oh, I see.... I'm sorry... Where is she?" I asked. The little girl pointed towards the shoreline at a woman in a black bikini, who seemed to be talking to a man. I then realized this Paula lady was flirting with the man. Talk about irresponsible! "Well, my name's Leafy. What's your's?" I asked the girl. "Amelia, but I prefer Amy," she replied. "Well Amy, it's really a pleasure to meet you," I said, smiling. She smiled back. It was a cute smile. She was an adorable kid. Her crystal blue eyes shone like the ocean, and her blonde hair bright like the sun (A/N: Here's where the emotional stuff starts). I looked at her arm and noticed a few bruises. "What happened there?" I asked. She looked at her arm. "Oh... That... I'm not supposed to say... Auntie Paula says so..." Amy answered. All of a sudden, it seemed as if her cheeriness disappeared entirely. She seemed really sad, like she really needed to talk to someone. "I know you only just met me, but you can tell me," I said. I know I probably shouldn't be getting into her personal business, but I think there was an exception here. "Okay... You see... Auntie Paula has been trying to get a new job... But she never gets hired... She blames it on me... And... She..." she trailed off. I noticed tears starting to form in her eyes. I hugged Amy as she started to sob. "What happened next?" I asked. "She... She hits me... And punches me... And beats me... She threatens to kill me... She's cut me with broken shards of glass from the vases she throws at me. She yells at me... Wishing I'd never been born... Wishing I would just die... Sometimes, I want to fulfill her wish... I've tried killing myself... Cutting... Hanging... But I couldn't pull through. I've wanted to tell people this for so long... But... She threatens to kill me if I tell anyone... Please don't tell her..." Amy explained to me, crying in the process (A/N: It's over now. Continue reading). I was shocked at what I just heard. "Oh my tree... That's terrible... Amy, this isn't something you should keep from other people. Someone needs to help you," I told her. "And it's going to be me. Come with me," I said. She followed me to the shoreline and asked, "Where're we going?" "We're calling the police," I told her. "What's happening?" I heard Firey ask as he walked over to me. "Who's she? And what about the police?" he asked. "I'm Amy," Amy told him. I explained to Firey that Amy was being abused by her aunt so I was calling the police. I told Amy to follow me again. We walked to my stuff and I pulled out my phone. I was about to dial 911 when a female voice shouted, "AMELIA! COME OVER HERE NOW!" It was Paula. Amy was about to walk over when I stopped her. "Don't Amy," I commanded. "AMELIA! NOW!" Paula shouted again. "Please Amy, stay here," I told her again. "DON'T MAKE ME COME OVER THERE!" Paula yelled. Amy didn't move. Actually, she did, but closer to me. Paula stormed over towards us. Amy grabbed my hand and hid behind me. "Amelia Autumn Alderman, how DARE you disobey me!" Paula shouted. She looked up at me and then said, "Oh, I'm so sorry miss for the trouble my ignorant niece has caused you. I'll take her from you now." I stepped back with Amy. "Amy here has told me what you've done. How dare you treat your own niece like that! She's the sweetest little girl I've ever met! I can't believe you would do such a thing!" I exclaimed at Paula. "Excuse me? You have no right to say that about me!" Paula shouted. I dialed 911 and clicked "call." "What're you doing?" Paula demanded to know. "Who are you calling?!" she yelled. I didn't say anything until someone answered the phone. "Hello? Police? I'd like to report a crime of child abuse..." I told the woman on the phone. I explained to her what was happening. Paula looked shocked that I called the police. "You hang up right now!" Paula demanded. I just listened to the officer. I told her where I was and she told me she would send the police there. Paula then slapped the phone out of my hand. She then slapped Amy in the face. Hard. "Hey! Don't do that to her!" I shouted. "Don't worry Amy, just come with me, you'll be safe," I told Amy. Paula suddenly slapped me. "Leafy!" I heard my friends shout. Paula looked like she was about to attack me. "Leafy, you'll regret ever meeting me or my niece..." she said. She then charged at me. I did the first thing that came to my mind. I ran to the water. Paula ran after me. I dived into the water and swam as hard as I could. Paula swam after me. I was losing energy, slowing down as I swam. I couldn't swim any farther. Paula caught up to me and punched me. "Why're you doing this?! I'm only sixteen!" I asked. "It's your fault that the police are after me! You're going to pay!" she yelled. I screamed as she grabbed me. She shoved me under the water and kept me there. The last thing I heard before blacking out was a voice, "LEAFY!!!"
