.-.

Joshua stood by Sara's grave, the moonlight casting long shadows across the cemetery. The cool night air carried a sense of quiet, broken only by the soft rustle of leaves and the distant hum of the city. He knelt down, tracing his fingers over her name etched in the marble, his heart heavy with memories

.One night, they sat by her window, the city lights twinkling below them. She lit another cigarette, the flicker of the flame casting a warm glow on her face. "Sara, please," Joshua begged, taking her hand. "You have to stop."

She looked at him, her eyes sad but resolute. "I can't, Josh. This is the only thing that helps me breathe."

Those words haunted him. He'd watched helplessly as the cigarettes took their toll, each one stealing a bit more of her vitality. He remembered the night she collapsed, the panic in his heart as he rushed her to the hospital. The doctors did what they could, but it was too late.

Now, standing alone at her grave, Joshua felt the weight of those memories pressing down on him. The moonlight bathed the cemetery in a cold, ethereal glow. He knelt by her headstone, his voice barely above a whisper. "We used to find moonlit nights beautiful, didn't we, Sara? But now... now they're empty without you."

He closed his eyes, hearing her voice in his mind, repeating the words she often said, "We'll find moonlit nights strangely empty because when you call my name through them, there will be no answer."

Joshua wiped away a tear, his heart aching with the loss. He stayed there for a while, the silence of the night wrapping around him like a shroud. The memories of Sara, both the joyful and the painful, filled his mind. As he stood to leave, he whispered one last time, "I love you, Sara. Always."
