something I wrote for you

laying here,
the sky is the darkest shade of blue and the stars are beautiful but brighter when you don't look straight at them. it's like a glow bracelet that sits on your dresser, faded, indisposed from a party or a fun time a couple days back. you look at it and see almost nothing. but it seems to light up when you look away and see it in the side of your vision. it could analogize to say that things are more beautiful after you're done staring at them and demanding and wanting and looking for something out of them, when all they can give is themselves. or maybe it's not as bright when we stare right at it because we're looking for something specific and already expecting what we will see. whereas, the best things come unexpected, when you don't seek them out and you never even think of the possibility.

and laying here,
the world looks like it's all just one big dome, which we're either completely and utterly trapped in like one huge artificial snowglobe, or it's one big dome made for us to use as we like and explore as we like, created for us all to experience and see its entirety.
