Wide Smiles and Broken Souls
Jemma Volkov begins her second year with a sighting of a girl that she feels like she knows, and starts to remember from a distant memory. She tries to find out more but is sidetracked by schoolwork, her demanding social life as one of the newest Gryffindor Quidditch players, and the pressure of living up to what many expect of her. Eden Duloc is a quiet girl from Ravenclaw that would really like to be left alone thank you very much, but this year it seems that the students of Hogwarts are determined to make that difficult. Take that crazy Gryffindor girl, for example, who keeps looking at her funny and trying to follow her after class. She has enough to worry about as it is. When the two meet, they are thrown into a conundrum that is baffling the magical world and threatens the balance between the wizard and Muggle communities, and that could shatter the delicate peace that has settled over the wizarding community since the demise of Voldemort.
